Job description

Polaroid Originals is the new brand from Polaroid dedicated to analog instant photography, and we’re currently recruiting a PR Manager for North America. This is a role for a motivated self-starter who is passionate about PR, brand marketing, flawless execution, entrepreneurial opportunity, strategic brand partnerships, collaborations and experiential activations and working with a brand immersed in contemporary culture. 


Technical requirements

  • Use the global PR strategy to design the integrated PR strategy for the North American business. Connect to all global and local PR activities
  • Liaise with Global PR Manager and brand team in Amsterdam to develop and implement localized press strategies and ensure all key global product and brand stories are effectively communicated within North America
  • Support the US Marketing Manager with regional activations, for both trade and brand activations
  • Provide feedback to the global team on the local market and be a key player in communicating North American priorities to inform the global marketing strategy
  • Establish relationships with local market media using proactive outreach to ensure Polaroid Originals is front of mind when opportunities arise
  • Assist Global PR Manager with identifying local market resource to assist with the implementation of the press strategy
  • Act as a thought-leader in the arena of PR to help guide the field, working closely with cross-marketing teams to develop stand-out, seamlessly integrated communication and PR concepts
  • Deliver results-oriented planning and programs that increase consumer and trade awareness of brand messaging, campaigns, products, technologies, innovations, and events
  • Provide relevant media outlets with innovative cross-channel PR strategies, compelling story ideas, clear messaging and using tools (e.g., photography, press kits, daily sample traffic, releases, interviews and briefing documents) provided by the global PR and communications team
  • Create a local events calendar and advise the brand team on critical dates and opportunities
  • Organize local media events celebrating Polaroid Originals products and campaigns in North America
  • Continuously develop local ideas on how to generate buzz around the brand locally and stay informed of t­rends in the industry and current media landscape
  • Track the implementation and results of local PR activations and tools, developing weekly reports
  • Oversee local PR budget


The ideal candidate

Knowledge, Capabilities, and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and level of strategic thinking
  • Experience in executing local marketing and PR activations
  • Understanding of corp comms; op-ed creation, crisis management assistance, and B2B events
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups: product marketing, communications, social, digital and retail
  • Understanding of consumer messaging and brand reputation
  • Affinity with cross-channel PR and background in strategy, media relations, journalism/writing and digital PR / social media
  • Strong understanding of and passion for the Tech and or fashion/art/entertainment industry along with a strong existing media network
  • Strong written and verbal, presentation and organizational skills


  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, PR or a related field. Master Degree / MBA a plus
  • 4+ years’ industry or relevant work experience
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills

Language Skills

  • English, Native or bilingual proficiency


What to expect

This is a fulltime job, based in New York (Manhattan) and will report directly to the Global PR Manager, Max Bellman, with a secondary reporting line to the Marketing Manager North America, Mildred Lee.
